Down Home Super trio: in the house
(Crosscut)
www.crosscut.de

Blues music lovers please pay attention! : one of the weakest year in blues close down with one of the best blues album heard in a long time, the Crosscut’s own “In the House “by the Down Home Super trio no one else but R.J. Mischo on harp and vocals, Frank Goldwasser on electric guitar and Richard Innes on drums. The album is the result of a beautiful project by the fertile mind of Detlev Hoegen, Crosscut’s maestro supremo who proposed such a beautiful idea to the always-receptive team of the Lucerne Blues Festival. The idea was simple and effective: go back to the roots, sweat and bring the whole stuff back home. And this is what R.J.. Richard and Frank effectively did on a hot-hot-hot night at the Lucerna Casino on Nov. 15th 2003.
The final result is really impressive: the trio pushes it hard and Neil Innes keeps Mischo and Goldwasser together with his beat and great authority.
There’s no one simple note in excess in this record, and for all of its beauty, it would have been easy to exaggerate. !3 great blues songs and a great variety with some common grounds: simplicity, sincerity, essentiality.
“In the house “ brings back all the excitement of a great blues night and it is a must for every music lover. Don’t miss it !
